CLINTON, NY. — Middlebury goalie Brian Ketchabaw stopped all 24 shots he faced, backstopping the Panthers to a key 3-0 NESCAC road victory at Hamilton (3-4-0, 2-3-0) on Saturday. Middlebury pushed its conference winning streak to five-straight games, with four of those coming on the road. The Panthers (6-2-0, 5-1-0), are idle until its annual holiday tournament set for January 3 and 4, taking on St. Michael’s on the opening day with a 4:00 p.m. faceoff.

Middlebury picked the contest’s first goal, taking advantage of a late power play in the opening period. Owen Powers shoveled a pass to Billy Dobensky along the right boards, who skated into the circle and fired a shot into the upper-left corner of the net with 16:30 expired.

The visitors made it a 2-0 at the 16:51 mark of the second stanza. Alex Heinritz took a shot from the point that eluded traffic and slipped behind Hamilton goalie Anthony Tirabassi. Ketchabaw saw his busiest period in the second, facing 11 Continental shots.

In the final frame, the Panthers continued their upward trend on the penalty kill, keeping the hosts off the scoreboard on a pair of chances. For the game the unit killed off all four Hamilton chances, finishing the weekend a perfect 10-10. Middlebury iced the victory with 35 seconds remaining when Mitchell Allen scored into an empty net for his third marker of the season.

Sean Storr started the game in goal for Hamilton and had eight saves in 24:39 of action, while Tirabassi 16 saves in 31:42.
