\nI had a great vacation and I’m all set to get back to work.
\nI watched the entire baseball All Star Game for the first time in about 25 years. Maybe longer….
\nStill read miles and miles of mindless drivel on facebook and twitter! Geez Joe Buck and John Smoltz are great, but of course they got hammered especially Joe Buck. What is the matter with you people? The ESPN Sunday Night baseball crew gets hammered too. Guess what? They are really good too!
\nOf course when somebody really stinks nobody says a peep. There are some that get a free ride and I don’t know why.
\nIt’s the same people who complain about All news stations who can’t tell the difference between news and commentary. That one continues to shock me.
\nThe Jim Rome Show on CBS Radio is one that deserves criticism. Ever notice that when he’s on vacation the show is actually better when somebody substitutes for him? I sure do!
\nHard to believe that tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. I remember it like it was yesterday watching a black and white TV in a cottage on Lake George in Ticonderoga, New York. A little astronaut fact that I mention on play by play many times. Allan Sheperd of Derry, New Hampshire wasn’t the first man on the moon even though he did eventually walk on the moon, but he was the first American in space. That is why Pinkerton Academy is called the Pinkerton Academy Astros. Yes Astros short for astronauts in honor of native son Allan Sheperd. I Love pointing that out when broadcasting a game when a Pinkerton Academy grad is playing. It’s funny that many Pinkerton Academy grads who I have talked to over the years don’t even know why their school is called the Astros. I find that to be astounding!!!
