Seattle, WA. — Kurt Steidl scored 17 points and Trae Bell Haynes added 16 points, six rebounds and five assists, and the Vermont Catamounts advanced to the semi-finals of the CBI Tournament, topping the Seattle Redhawks on Monday night 73-54.
Leading by four at halftime the Catamounts fell behind briefly early in the second half, but then retook the lead with a strong run and extended it to ultimately win the game going away. Ernie Duncan returned to Vermont lineup, scoring 14 points and Darren Payen added 14 as Vermont improved their record to 23-13 on the season.
UVM will now travel to Reno, Nevada to meet the University of Nevada Reno in the tournament semi-final on Thursday night.
