BURLINGTON — Michel Ndayishimiye scored 38 points and the Rice Green Knights out scored Burlington 25-12 in the second quarter, going on to beat the Seahorses 76-63 on Thursday night inside Buck Hard Gym.
Led by their big man inside, Jenson Daly, Burlington led the Knights 17-15 after the first quarter, but Ndayishimiye and Mo Awayle combined for 23 Rice points in the second eight minutes to give the visitors a 40-29 halftime lead.
Burlington guard Jackson Sevakian got hot in the third quarter, scoring all of his eleven points on the night, and helping BHS to close to within five, but Ndayishimiye’s eleven fourth quarter points helped Rice to salt away the win.
After Ndayishimiye’s 38, Awayle added 17 for Rice.
Daly led the Seahorses with 21, Sevakian and Ryan Murray each scored eleven, and Henry Hood added ten.
Rice is 2-0. Burlington falls to 0-2.
