Manny Ramirez signs with the Oakland A's ... really? Maybe it is time to take away all those awards that "Moneyball" is up for ... Signing Manny doesn't really seem to fit the formula that Billy Beane advocated in the film ... and in real life. But on second thought ... maybe it does. They got Manny signed for $500,000 ... and he only gets that if he makes the big league roster.

Ramirez gets to go to spring training ... but if he makes the club he then has to sit out the first 50 games of the season under suspension for PED use. I suppose one might ask how you know he has really made the club if you don't get to use him to the end of May anyway but ...
